Garden Design Highlights

My garden designs feature easy-care plants hardy to our Zone 5 growing conditions. Your visions, resources, and particular growing conditions at your site will receive careful consideration. My goal is to create areas of year-round interest using a wide variety of plant material that is eco-friendly, easy to maintain, and will be a source of pleasure to you and the people in your life.

Creating four-season gardens and Backyard Wildlife Habitats™ (garden areas that will encourage song birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, pollinators and beneficial insects) are my specialty.

My designs always take winter interest into consideration and use a wide variety of plant materials including shrubs that provide form and texture in the depths of winter, and provide food and shelter for wildlife.

As spring arrives, the cool-season perennials, flowering bulbs and a nice variety of foliage color and texture that I have incorporated begin to provide interest in early April. The stage is now set for non-stop blooms emerging to create beauty throughout the months of spring.

Summer is the highpoint in most gardens, and I include in my designs blooms for butterflies and hummingbirds and a wide variety of shapes, forms, colors and textures to appeal to every garden use, color scheme, and client’s vision.

As the garden season winds down, I ensure that my designs include interesting foliage color and great texture to keep everything looking great through the fall months until winter sets in.

Are you a nature lover? I particularly love to teach my clients how to create Backyard Wildlife Habitats to support local wildlife. My own property is registered with the National Wildlife Federation, and I can show you how to do the same for your property.

In today’s fast-paced world we crave sanctuary from stressful situations. I have created wonderful healing spaces for clients that provide a retreat and a private space to relax and renew. I call these spaces Healing Gardens and know that they can make a positive difference.

Whether creating a small garden bed…

redoing a stonewall planting…

or renovating an entire front yard landscape …

I truly love creating the perfect garden or landscape for my clients!   I look forward to collaborating with you on a future garden design project.
